I have a 1994 Mustang 5.0 Automatic with a quick shift. I just bought this car and when I got home I realized that the Odometer does not work. The instrument cluster, speedometer, tach and all works. Also, the closk does not work. It is up on top of the dash. Does anyone have a clue what to check to get this to start working?

So the odometer does not work, but the speedo does?? Doesn't seem like that makes sense because I always thought that the Odometer worked off of the speedo. And the clock not working is probably a fuse or connection of some kind.

This is very confusing to me...yes everything else works except the speedo and the trip on it. If anyone know what to look for I would appreciate it.

HA HA lol same thing with my 95!!!! tach, speedometer, and all that works EXCEPT the CLOCK and ODOMETER!!!!! lol i think there is a sensor ontop of the tail of the tranny or its in the rear end that works the odometer. i havent looked at it since im not driving the car yet but im about to have the motor back in

SN95 speed/odometer is electronic - analog display.....the problem is with the gauge, it would either have to be replaced or sent out for repair......sorry.

Everything else works including my speedometer....only my odometer does not work. Still need to be sent out?

look for a sensor on the ontop the tranny or rear end and see if if its messed up or not in properly. ill look tomorrow if i dont forget.

Exactly my point.....the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) drives both meters using the same signal, if the speedo is working = VSS is OK.....the only thing left is the odometer, which shares the same space and location as the speedo, therefore.....the gauge is bad. Unfortunately that is a common problem with those years, all Ford models (I've replaced Explorers, Mustangs, CV's, etc).....the plastic gears in the odometer "section" go fubar.

Do you have to take it in to a repair shop or can you fix this yourself? If you can fix your self, where can you get the parts??? Junk Yard???
