Default Help, No one can find pro

I have a 95' Mustang..Automatic. The past couple months I'll be driving someimes at a high rate of speed, sometimes not and out of nowhere the car will start downshifting. It's very scary because I have barely avoided a couple accidents due to this. So we brought it in to Aamaco and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. So we decided to change the fluids and all that good stuff. Then the very next day it started right back up. Now, my man says it never does this when he checks it out, so him along with others think I'm outa my mind. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I'd love to walk into a repair shop and actually TELL the mechanic what and where the problem comes from. Thanx!

Over 45 MPH? Might be a loose connection in the overdrive switch. I can't remember if my '95 auto had a light that said "overdrive off."

If it happens under 40 mph or so, it's probably not the OD switch.

Thanx for the reply Veredus, yes my car does have the o/d off/on button, but it doesn't seem to make a differance, we tried that too. Thanx for the suggestion though!

ok since this is an auto... place it in Drive insted of O/D when you first start out... if your problem is solved then...also.. you say it happend at high speed.... i bet your speed and throttle is high enough for the trans to kick down to a lower passing gear...
