Have you double checked your linkage. It almost sounds like you may be off a little bit.

If that is ok I would suspect either a valve body or sensor problem. I have heard of some common issue with sensors on the computer controlled ford transmissions. But the exact details have escaped me. I would call ford and talk to one of the mechanics. They are usually pretty helpfull over the phone and they will tell you if it is a common issue. Maybe also try a code read on you obd and see if it shows any trans related issue.

i was gonna check the shift linkage just havent got to it yet. i will but first i gotta get i back running again.
