Default cleaning

well, I did some cleaning on my newly aquired motor, and I can tell you she looks alot better. its amazing what some papertowels, shop rags and some liquid "goo-gone" can do to take off grease and grime. engine looks a hell of alot better. I'm prolly gonna paint it before I drop it in, but I'll see how I feel when it comes to that. upon more inspection of the motor, I have found that I can steal the pullies from the 3.8, yay! I saved some money already! dont know about the flywheel... I will have to rent an engine hoist twice, once to yank out the v6, then again to drop in the 5.0. I may call some friends to see if there is anyone I know that I can borrow a hoist from. the rental place wants 25 bucks a day, I'd rather save the 20 bucks and use it on other things I'll need. (I am a cheapass) here is some tech info

'86 3.8 V6 crank and waterpump pullies have the same bolt pattern as a 5.0 (ford prolly used the same stuff to save cash...)

I need to double check this, but the bellhousing on the sixer has the same bolt locations as the 5.0, so that makes me happy, but like I said, Ive gotta do the double check. (I have a good feeling they are the same...)

and I may write a tech article on how toperform an '83-863.8<5.0 swap. I dont know if someone did this before, but Imay write one up. I will document and take pics of the swap as it goes along, but I know the write up will take me a while...
