Default p/s pump

On a few rare occasions, when i turn the wheel in my 91, the engine dies. Could this be a p/s pump issue?

if it really is the steering causing it, its more than likely the rack or lines has an obstruction..

i've never heard of it though

If the pump was going bad, is it possible that it could be bogging the motor enough to kill it?

the only way that would happen is if the pump shaft itself became solid with the pulley/bearing assembly.
again, thats another instance i havn't seen personally on a Ford, but it is possible.

while we are sort of one steering here i got another problem. ever since i replaced my ball joints my steering has tended to pull left and right. My wheel also makes a faint clicking sound when i lightly rotate left and right. any idea what it could be?

pull could be alignment, but i'm bettin on bad control arm bushings for the click noise

click in the steering wheel? something in the column, or a bad joint in the shaft
