I raced a friends 06 gt about 5-6 times last night and I barely beat it by about a length or so. The 06 gt has 300hp but it weighs about 500lbs more. I know i still have to get it tuned but wouldnt this mean im pretty much in the 300hp range even with all the work done to it? I would think that even an untuned 347 would have a little more than that. Or is it because of the parts the previous owner had? I know edelbrock heads arent as great as say, AFR's.

I dont really know what im expecting but it just seems low to me. Besides getting it tuned is there somthing that could be restricting it or does 300hp sound reasonable?

Everything was done by the previous owner and I think he could have chosen some better parts. So what cam and rear end would be better than what I have now?
