No. Its the only place to jack up the rear of the car.

don't jack ir from the cover go just it front of it, I will put the jack in front of the cover jack it up a little and slide back until it hit the front of the cover. If you jack it by the cover you can bend it and cause it to leak.

I have heard that it is a no go on the diff either, but I jack it up from there anyway and quickly put ramps under the tires and lower it on the ramps so the weight isn't on there for too very long. I'll look it up.

its fine as long as u dont mess up the cover.....but its not the only place to jack up the rear.....the subframes in the back are a better place if you want to jack it up safely, its kinda iffy on the diff, if your buddy leaned up against it or someting it could tip off

you put more stress on the axle launching the car with sticky tires then you do lifting it from the diff

Just lifted mine last night from the rear diff with no ill effects. And I'll probably have to do it 100 more times before its over. Just be careful and pay attention. You'll be fine.

i always jack the rear from the diff, just avoid the cover, then slip a jackstand at each end and take the jack out.
