are you saying that it would be a bad idea to tose the gt 40p's on a stroker.....what about thumper ported P's

no its a good idea dont listen to them do what ya can do on your buget u know personaly i would go with regualar gt40's but stock fox cobras came with 278hp an they came with gt40 heads just upgrade ur cam abc cams are fine i went with a b cam with my DD runs an sounds great anywayz nice cam upper an lower intake upgrade fuel injectors go with 24lbs biiger fuel pump,throttlebody ect... u'll get close just do what ya can do just cause other people have 331,347 doesn't mean anything its not the size of the motor that proves anything its how you drive your car is what counts i have a 306 great motor just work your way up in the future for some better heads but your on the right track bro ask if u need any help from me pm me ill help ya out

This combo made 350 HP on my 306, will make power to 6200 rpm and sounds nasty as hell idling at 1200rpm. Also I just finished my 347 and have the pistons and rods for sale that have 800 miles on them, a 750 V.S. and a Action Plus intake and the best Iron heads you can make out of stock, and long tube Headman headers and 4.10 gears(7.5)all up for grabs if needed.Good luck with the build!

thanks guys for the help..im lookin for a good 306 kit. gt40p is hit or miss with some people i guess. my budget is about 3500. i was looking into a probe kit. whats another good head that will work well wit a 306 thats a good price, or will the gt40ps be enought for my goals

Edelbrock RPM performer 2.02/160 $1100 at Summit, they are CNC machined complete and takes 6 hours to polish the runners yourself for some extra HP. GOOD LUCK! I would make you a great deal on my pistons and rods, they are barely used, look at my other post. And btw, if you got that to spend make a 347!

in all honesty gt and hatch, do u think its gunna be possible to do 300rwhp wit 3:55 or 3:73 gears and a 306 wit gt40p heads wit an e303 cam. i do not want to go carbed, but its a good idea

Well my car with a stock short block, small cam, trickflow street heat and ported gt40p's makes almost 280hp untuned with speed density. The car was dynoed on a 98* day too. I don't see why a fresh motor with a little more compression and little work to the p heads wouldn't make 300rwhp.

With your budget it's entirely possible, as I listed for you, I know that will do it and the cost is under your budget, all internals andbalancing andmachine work isunder $2000 and heads$1100, poof 350Hp at the motor. And if you would take 30 minutes and learn how to build it yourself you would save anothe$600 on assembly! now your down to $2500. And you can't have mpg and hp, I get about 15mpg just crusing, but runnin and city around 10mpg, use the money you save and buy a junker, and turn your stang into a princess of the garage.
