i think my alternator is bad, I gave it a love tap with my hammer when it stopped charging and it started to charge again momentarily. am I right?

changed the alternator last night and the car charges fine now, not a flinch! hope you figure out what demons lie under your hood. electrical problems are the worst.

I have the same problem. I just bought a brand new alternator and battery, and at idle my battery meter reads low, like last white line before the red zone. During normal driving, it moves up to almost the middle. Whats going on?I read about underdrive pullies.. can that be it?

where are the fusible link located at and i can some one post a picture of a selenoid idk if its called like that. i am talking about the round thing next to the battery

You know what i just realized also. I bought a new alternator and never switched pullies, and i have u/d pullies! damnit, gotta go call the auto store!!!
