RE: help me out here guys
yeh that was my question more or less, how do youknow what the volt should be at those wire and how to check them, whats the yellow/white wire for ? anyone know, b/c thats not putting anything out, thanks for the diagram tho, helps a lot

That wire (A) is used by the regulator to check alternator output and...........regulate, know how much power needs to be output......it should have 12vdc all the time (since it goes connected to the output post). LG/R is the IGN ON 12vdc supply.

well from what i heard is you can start a fire if something goes wrong, otherwise you will seriously damage something. instead of a mega fuse tho, i used two fusible links, oh btw i have a multi meter, i just checked all the wires and traced them to a bad fusilink, thanks tho

At the B+ terminal, you should see source voltage. That means battery voltage. This is the main output from the alternator to run you electrical system.
The "I" terminal recieves voltage from the ignition switch through the charge lamp and is used to wake up the voltage regulator. Expected voltage at this wire with the key on and the charge lamp on is 1 to 3 volts at the regulator plug.
The "A" terminal recieves power from the battery. This is the circuit that provides current to the rotor inside the alternator to create the magnet that creates the voltage and amperage that the car uses to operate. Expected voltage value key on: close to source voltage.
The "S" terminal recieves AC voltage from the stator and sends out a voltage signal to turn off the charge lamp when the system is operating normally. If there is no AC voltage, then it allows the charge lamp to come on informing you that there is a fault in the system.
You will cause a big wire fire if you remove the fuse. Does the charge lamp come on when you turn the key to the on position? KOEO: Key On Engine Off. If not, that is a good place to start. It means that the regulator is not seeing any voltage applied to it to wake it up. Remember you should see 1 to 3 volts there KOEO charge indicator on. Hope this helps a little.

my alt is not puttin anything out, I know its good b/c I bench tested it and the bench test read 15.2 volts coming out. but when its on the car it puts nothing out at all. the car is running completely of the battery. its a 130amp out of a 95 3.8. I am pretty sure i did the wiring right b/c i followed the directions in the tech article. any suggestions????thanks
