I bought a 89 mustang Lx which used to be a 4 banger automatic. When I bought the car it had a 5.0 H.0 motor with a 4 banger tranny. I put in a 93 5spd cobra tranny in the stang. My speedometer is off by I want to say at least 20-25 mph. I have a 4.10 gear in the back I bought the correct speedo gear. It feels better since I put the new gear and tranny in my rear tires are 235 and there suppose to be 225 I think. My sisters boyfriend said since the car was orignaly an automatic with a 4 banger and now I have a v-8 5spd my speedometer problay needs to be recalibrated. What do you guys think I need to do to fix my speedmoeter or at least keep it 5-10 mph off I wanna keep my 4.10

there are 2 speedo gears, one's internal in the tranny, Slipknot Rocks

I haven't changed any gauges my fuel gauge dosen't work and no I didn't change the drive gear in the transmisson but I have the right speedo gear for it. Could I just have a bad cable?

u might stil have a four banger cluster .

what does the stock tach go up to 6 grand or 7 ?
