what would i have to do to a 1972 351 windsor. so i cant have a mechanical roller tappet cam in there.

They do make conversion kits tohydraulic rollercams. I love my solid flat tappet roller. It makes great power. I like the sewing machine effect. And contrary to what some people say you do no have to adjust lash every couple months, the cams are made better now than in the 70's.

i found a cam that matches my intake perfect (3500-7500) but its a mechanical roller tappet.


or else i would use the (2800-7000) hydraulic flat tappet XE274 compcams

or (3000-7000) FW305 compcams

you should call some engine builders or go with custom grind. To maximize power you really dont wont to guess with the cam. Everything should compliment each other and the cam is the heart of engine.

ya im talking to a guy at the strip on friday he has a 64 falcon with a 351w. runs 11.8 N/A and 10.9 on the150 shot. he is a carb and nitrous tunepro. he should be able to figure out a h/c/i for me.
