Default bad vibrations and loss of power

well i was on a diserted road on my way home from work, and i was in a rush so i sped up. but when i hit 105 a bad vibration started and the power ended. it felt like the vibrations were coming from right below me. and the car wouldnt go any faster...it fell flat on its face. it didnt feel like it was the engine or rear end and the tranny was rebuilt within the last 4 months. so the only thing i was thinking was the driveshaft. could it be out of balace or installed wrong when the tranny got put back in? and help would be greatly appreciated cause i have no idea whats causing it.

get under the car and check for play in the joint, if it's done it will be loose and clunk around when you move it.

When you shift into gear do you hear a clanking noise or feel a jolt? Jack your car up and grab close to the ends of your drive shaft try to see if there is any movement or slack. It usually doesnt take but a couple of hours to change u-joints. You may still have to have the shaft balanced.
