Default Doing the fuel pump at home, any suggestions?

I've replaced many intank fuel pumps at work. But there I have a lift and a gas tank/tranny jack. I don't work today and I figured that it would be the perfect day to get my 255lph Walbrofuel pump swapped in. Any suggestion onhow I should usethe floor jack to support my fuel tank? Anyone have any tips or tricks for doing this without a larger jack?

if the tank has more than a couple gallons in it, i suggest using a plank of wood inbetween the jack and the tank.
when i did my pump, i put the car on ramps, and when i unbolted the tank, i just let it sit on my chest.

Find a friend to help with holding the tank and make sure theres not much gas in there.

thats al I did.... But I used a 3' long piece of hose, attached to my fuel pump, then jumped power to the pump to get it to empty out the tank.... because I had about 13 gallons of gas in it when my filler neck grommet started leaking

empty the tank slide under it let it fall ontop of you, thats what I did. disconnect the wires and you are ready to swap it out. Put it in the same way you got it out. I used my forearm for leverage and held it in the air while i threaded the strap bolts back in. It was a little bit of a pain but not too much. not like installing LONG TUBE HEADERS....stupid longtubes...

I was almost done until I discovered that the fuel tank grommet (the one that the filler neck goes through when it goes into the tank) was dry rotted and torn up. I called my work and they're going to get one from one of the Ford dealerships. Otherwise I would've been done by now lol. Oh well **** happens, I'll have my new grommet at around 1 o'clock today and she'll be running.

I didn't break the seal, it's just been torn up over time. I also checked the baffle andit looked good. The Walbro pump is a lot quieter than the stock one. It doesn't make that whining sound but you can still hear it turn on, I've had people tell me that they are really noisy.
