Default taurus fan

Everyone tells me that the 3.8 taurus electric fan works great on fox bodies. I am wondering if the 3.0 taurus has the same fan? I went to the salvage yard today and found several 3.0 taurus, but the fan motor sticks out too far and will not fit. Is the 3.8 the same? Also, the 96+ taurus has the dual fan setup. Will these fans work on the fox bodies also? I have a Vortech supercharger and am having clearance issues. I need a slim fan for my car. thanks.

the 3.0 fan is not the same. Search on www.car-part.com for a fan from a 1992 taurus 3.8l.... youll find one

try ebay as well

for the prices you can get good powerful universal slim fans (ebay and elsewhere) I wouldn't even bother with anything else. Those slim fans are usually only like 2.5" thick, and probably flow better then stock. The only issue with them is the loss of the shroud.

the tarurus fan is only about 3 inches thick. not much bigger and im pretty sure they flow better. its upwards of 4k cfm and for 25 bucks from the junk yard you cant beat a taurus fan

Just go with the 3.8 liter fan, it works very well from what I here, I am about to install one on my stang as soon as I get the dcc fan controller.

89-95 SHO was V-6. 96-99 was V-8.I myself have a 98 SHO along with the 90 5.0. Awesome car, excellent bang for the buck.
