stock gear?

RE: stock gear?
dont forget, the taller the gear, the lower your max speed is.
some people with H/C/I cars & 4:10's run out of gear before the end of the track. not good.
if you plan on racing on the highway, against anything that might be able to keep up, 4:10s are gonna hurt you.

+1 You will be nowhere near 3k with 3.73's.... maybe 4.56's. I run 3.90's in my 93 auto at 70mph at about 2400 (approx.). Choosing a gear size depends on what you want to do with the car in the future, what your hp goals are with the car, how you drive the car, where you drive the car, etc. For me, my car is a weekend cruiser... doesnt see highway too often, mostly city driving. I went from 2.73's to 3.90's and can barely see a difference in gas drop in the city. I just took the car on a 100 mile cruise last weekend and was less than half tank.... not driving it light either. Not too bad IMO. Unless you have a nice amount of power (350+) I dont see 3.55's making anyone happy. atleast not myself.

if you dont go on the highway then i say 4:10s all the way, but if you like to do alittle highway racing then run the 3:73s, you still wont have tons of high speed, but youll get there quick enough, 3:55 with only bolt ons will be a longer walk to top speed.
