is there a bolt or bolts that hold the tourqe converter and the flywheel together or when I go to pull the motor will it just slide out?

well the torque converter is bolted to the flywheel. so if you yank out the engine the torque converter will slide out with the engine

ok, so when I take out the engine, I'll need to take the converter off and put it on the new flywheel that I'm getting for the 5.0? I guess there is no way to unbolt it when the engine is in the car?

Yes you can unbolt the converter fromthe flywheel before you pull the engine. In between the block and the trans on thge under side you can acess the bolts. i dont remember how many on those(i believe four), its been so long since i pulled the 3.8 out of mine but its all the same. just be careful not to pull the drain out of the converter or you will have a slight mess on your hands. and if u pulled the converter with the engine still attatched you run the chance of damaging things. good luck

I was peeking under there when I pulled the starter and the dust sheild. I saw at least one, and there is no real way for me to get it... not sure if it was the right bolt or not. I was talking to my grandpa and he said it is attached via the shaft and when I pull it the converter will stay behind with the trans... but I guess I'll find out when I pull it. tomorrow I'm deadset on getting that bolt loose. gonna start in the morning and not quit until I get it off. saturday I plan on yanking the motor if all goes as planned. would do it friday but gotta work both jobs... I think one of these days I may call in sick its getting crazy... plus I have 39 days left till I go back to school[&:][:@]

gotta finish
