Default Looking for a smoother ride

My 91 GT rides like crap. Potholes, bumps, make my car rattle like hell. Just feels way too stiff. What springs will give me a softer ride? I want something that will lower my car a little too.

Thanks for the info prime. Are there different shocks and struts other than factory, for our cars if you lower it or use after market springs.

I put an adjustable suspension in my 92 lx. I love it. It was pretty expensive but drining down the highway i can throw it in soft and it rides like a caddy. Then I can throw it in medium or hard and it stiffens up and hugs the road more.
