there a soft spring. so its better for when you launch the car at the track. the rear end swats faster and the front end lifts up faster too for weight transfer

People use them in the front as a cheap "drag" spring. They help transfer the weight to the rear tires because they are a softer spring. You wouldnt want to keep the rear 4 cyl. springs though. You want stiff springs in the rear to plant the weight onto the rear tires for traction. Thefrontmay lower a bit because of the weight of a v8 and also depending how worn out they are. They wont make it handle better in the turns as apposed to a set of performance lowering springs.

rear squat is bad. if the rear squats thats means the suspension is absorbing the weight transfer. the idea behind weight transfer is to push the tires into the ground.

koesterca1 is correct, you want the stiff v8 springs in the rear, 4 banger springs in the front

4banger springs....

i have them up front... cant bitch at all.

you want soft up front and stiff in the rear... soft up front to lift the front, and stiff rear to plant the tires hard.

the reason ppl, like me, use 4cyl springs up front as a drag spring are... their a softer rate spring...so they flex up and down easier.. w. the extra weight of the v8 their sorta preloaded, so they expand up on launch faster. they didnt lower the front of my car at all, but thats prolly because i bought them new. they do however do me great help in launching... i have 4cyl springs, strange struts, and no sway bar up front... and a m/t drag radial. motor and gears are stock... heres a pic of the launch... this was a nitrous run, but the spray wasnt even on yet.... so this is stock car w. the above said front suspension...
