Default This ever happen to you...

My belt fell off a few weeks ago and I had to gimp the Mustang to a hotel and park it there. I finally got a chance to go and retrieve it and bring it home.

I back out off the parking spot and start to go forward. I get to the intersection to leave the parking lot, it's a side street and I get ready to go. As I go I hear some metal clanking and the amp light comes on. I turn off the car and pop the hood. To my surprise the crankshaft pulley is missing, it's under my car near the back wheels along with the belt.

The problem is that some of the bolt tops came off, so I might have to retap the holes. I am hoping I won't have to do this.

Where can I get just a crankshaft pulley and not a whole kit with the other pulleys?

I'd hit up a junkard, ebay, or craigslist for a part like that.

Cool!

The problem is that I need it now - lol

I need to get my car inspected this month. It might have to go into hiding in my garage until I can get the part.

If you need it ASAP, then hit up a junkyard. They should be fairly cheap and they should have a fair amount of old 302's in them.

Check out this website: http://car-part.com/

I just went there and looked in your area (VA) and I found a bunch of balancers listed on there. You should be able to show up and grab one fairly quickly.

Thanks!

The problem is I think they are all far away from me. I'll check out the site though.

The nearest one to you was 26 miles away. I know it's not exactly "close" but overall that's not too bad. Especially since you're after a part that's kind of old and you can't exactly walk into NAPA and get off the shelf, lol.
