Default pypes exhaust install

Well I finally finished my exhaust install, went withBBK s.s.shorties,pypes catted x-pipe and s.s. pypes cat-back w/s.s. violator mufflers. The install went pretty smooth thanks to a can ofPB blaster ( that stuff really works). The pypes system fit O.K.,except for the 4-5inches I had to cut off each flow tube. Like any made- to- fit exhaust system ,I had to do a fair amount of tweaking, twisting and bending,to get things to line-up. I'm very happy with the sound/performance of the set-up, but would tell anyone putting on a pypes system to expect some modification. Brought the car over to my buddies lift for some final adjustments, now I just need to learn how to post sound clips. Oh Yeah, this was installed onmy 93GT

So how does the car feel performance-wise, with the new exhaust? Particularly, does it feel softer in the bottom end...assuming your exhaust was stock before? Does it feel faster in general?

I have the same Pypes system you have and had the same identical experience. You have to tweek the mid-pipes around a bit to get it to fit (not a ton), but its a nice kit. I'm running the headers the sell too, but I bought them straight from the OE manufacturer.

I'm VERY happy with mine... $400 for everything from the headers back in SS (added another $90 on to mine for all SS hardware and band clamps)... Can't beat it... It's loud, can be driven "quietly"...

FINALLY someone else has said something good about Pypes... I get a rash of crap every time I mention a pypes system or the Mustang Warehouse $199 *304 STAINLESS* headers... Cheapest you're going to get in to stainless by far. Pypes did take about 4 weeks to ship it though...

edit: sorry... I have the cat-less X pype on mine... "The Beast" system..

No kidding, I want to hear it too. Does it seem really loud...like it'd **** everyone off around you? Or is it more mellow than that?

I don't really have a great way to take one... If I get the chance I'll try to dig my laptop out and see if it has a mic provision. Truthfully, it sounds just about like the SN 5.0 that Pypes has on their webpage. Mine doesn't seem as raspy and high pitched in real life though. I think that might just be the microphone they recorded it with. If it helps at all, I have Borlas behind an SBC in another car and the Pypes sound very similar.

And no, it doesn't **** everyone off. Its not any louder than say, 40 series flowmasters, it just doesn't sound like flows.
