Default AOD or C4?

I have a 91 mustang lx 5.0 and i need to get a better trans to handle the mods i have planned. I have a aod in it right now so it might be easier to go with a better aod just so everything bolts up right but i herd that a C4 is also good. Alsowhat is a good stall speed for street use?.

An AOD is a good tranny, it is nearly as strong as a c4, but a c4 is alot cheaper to beef up and modify. I would recommend you get a shift kit for you aod and keep it just like it is unless you plan to drag it mostly. As for your stall, 2.5 - 3.0k is pretty much the norm for street use, but you need to pick aconverter that matches your engine powerband. Any aftermarket converter will make a huge difference in performance, just remember when increasing your stall speed you should get a trans cooler if you want your trans to stay healthy.

My friendhas a spare built C4 so im going with that. They arereally light for a auto and can be fully manual shifted without shuffling. Thanks for the info
