Default Got a Dilema

Ok. Here's my dilema. Recently I had a brand new transmission put in my 5.0 b/c there was an annoying rattle that we thought at the time was b/c of the old transmission. Well....today I just got my car back with the new tranny and it's still making the noises. This makes me wonder if I spent $3000 for nothing. Keep in mind there are little to no miles on the tranny. I can get an exhaust clip if needed, but the noise is made only when moving. At idle all you can hear is the exhaust with a little bit of rattle.

Any of your opinions or advice here will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

3k? come on... that must be a bulletproof tranny good to 800ftlbs

anyway, post a sound clip.

if it only makes noise when moving, its obviously a rotating part.
exhaust hitting the driveshaft, wheel bearings, axle bearings, pinion bearing, output shaft bearing.. the list goes on

This might sound stupid but check your 02 sensors. In my other foxbody i had a rattle that drove me crazy. At idle could barely hear it but drive up the rpms and the rattle was bad. I checked everything under car i could think of, then when i was changing my gears i had both front and rear of car on jackstands and decided to check again and still could not find anything. But for some reason i checked my o2 sensors and the pass. side was loose as hell. Easiest and cheapest fix i have ever done.

Check your o2 sensors. It is crazy to think they could rattle so bad, but that was my problem. Cheapest fix i ever did, But it took me weeks to find it. Give it a try.
