I've got an '84 Mercury Capri. I just put in a reman. '86 302, and I can't find out where the vacuum hose from the charcoal canister goes! Anybody know?

I've got a buddy that's a tech at a Ford dealership, he looked at it and said it's just a breather line for the charcoal canister, and it's just supposed to hang there, is this right?

I know I've got a vacuum leak somewhere because I get that whistling sound when I cut my car off, and I'm wondering if it's coming from this hose.

look for an open spot in the front of your intake manifold.
There should be a skinny metal tube coming out from the bottom of the upper intake manifold.

The one on the right sode (front) goes to the charcoal canister. The other line on the charcoal canister goes to the fuel tank. Also, that one labeled capped off goes to the MAP on 86-88 cars. Only capped off on MAF cars.
