Default Gears Growl

My rearend gears are 3.90's and they work fine until i have driven my car for a while and then when i back up it makes a growling noise instead of a whining noise that usually occurs when you back up. this has just recently started making the noise at the same time my rear brakes make a chirping noise when i press them and come to a complete stop and let off then it chirps. i have been told that the slave cylinder in the drum isnt building enough pressure to fill up the cylinder. If anybody else has had similar problems please respond. Thanks

Default RE: Gears Growl

as far as the growling noise goes you need to isolate /localize where it is coming from??? tranny?? rearend??? if the rear maybe a bad bearing or if the backlash was set up on the loose side of the spec and now that it's worn in it could be even further out of spec.....it's better to error on the tighter side of the spec for backlash as the wear in periond will bring it to just right!! as far as the chirp from the rear breaks goes if they are drum brakes try lubricating the contact points on the backing plate where the shoes rest.
