Default Proper tv cable adjustment?

Ever since i put my new motor in i been having some harsh shifts,really when im slowing down it wont kick from overdrive to drive on its own but it will kick down the rest of the way but its pretty harsh.Does anyone know how to properly adjust the tv cable?
