Default Putting Timing chain on.. Need a little help

Aright i got the thrust plat bolted up over top the cam shaft end, then i put the two timing chain gears n chain on lined up perfectly with number 1 TDC, But what keeps the camshaft from moving back and forth? dose the L shape plate n nut that go's over the top gear tighten up that slack? i got pics if you guys need them.. thanks guys

Your susposed to have some camshaft endplay. You might want to search google and see what endplay specs are.

there should of been what they call a camshaft trust plate blocking the removal of the cam it's held on by two small bolts that get torqued to 11 ft lbs

well i got that tourqed.. but its movn like |---------| that far.... not sure if thats right ya ill have to do that then zach.. cuz i got the thrust plate n all on and then i put the gear on and u can move the cam gear like farther then u should be able to.. more then ud think anyway.

eh, the amount that's considered acceptable is next to nothing, it should barely move.

Use some Lock-tite red on those bolts for the retainer.
If I remember right, the side of the plate with the grooves goes toward the BLOCK side.........
