Default dyno tune vs. DIY tune

Hey guys, whats been going on? I finally got around to supercharging my car and i am in desperate need of a tune. My question is which way to go with it? If i get a dyno tune Mike Murillo would be tuning it, maybe some of you have heard of him, he is prety well known, and is one of the best tuners out there from what i have heard. The cost is 650 with 150 reburns when new stuff is added. But i am also thinking about doing my own tuning, i was looking into a tweecer, or a PMS system. I was wondering if those who have gone either way could chime in here and tell me why they chose that way, and the pro's/con's of it.

I absolutely love my Tweecer RT. It only runs about $550 or so and I can change the tune as many times as I want. And I can program 4 at a time and switch on the fly. It's got a steep learning curve, but you can't beat it... if you know what you're doing.

Yeah, what exactly qre you doing when you are "tuning" it? Just setting different values for things?

I'd like Mike tune it. Actually, I trailered my car 8 hours to him so he could.

Thats what i've been hearing. He is literally 10 minutes from my house, so it would be really easy.

the super simplified explanation is you are adding/removing timing/fuel at certain rpms for a given load table while making aditional adjustments in a boost or nitrous table assuming you are boosted or spraying. if n/a, forget the last part of that sentance.

fivepointohh, you can learn in a few weeks if you dive right in. chances of f*cking your motor, very high, you can blow your motor up the first time you go wot.the margin for error is larger if you are n/a but that doesnt mean you can hurt things. engine tuning is a valuable skill to have. i know ive saved a fortune in dyno tunes by having a pms.
