Default Transmission T-5 pricing?

I have been having problems with my origional stock T-5 tranny with the syncronisers. I have rebuilt it once, 9 months ago and 1st, 2nd, and 3 gear syncronisers are already bad.
I talked to a technician at the shop that I go to and he said I can pick up a basic T-5 for a 5.0 for about $ 900- $1100! I was wondering if he's right? if so, where can I get one? and if anyone knows where one is cheaper, let me know please. I dont mind if it's not brand knew, just not beat up. NEW OR USED, LET ME KNOW! Thanks

what he neglected to say is you have to get a different bell housing and clutch to make it work, and 50resto.com has t-5's for 1100$

you could also look through some junkyard i am sure they have some perfectly good t-5s in there for around $400.00( if you dont have the extra cash to get a brand new one). if you are looking for a brand new one you can expect to pay around the price the shop quoted you..

im pretty sure the only tremec you have to change the bellhousing and clutch on is the tko model, just cause it is a monster of a transmission. you should be fine with a 3550 model like i have.

I'll be getting rid of mine in a few months, it's a stock T5 with around 15-20k miles on it.
Lemme know if interested
