Default Cam Question

I'm thinking of putting a new cam into my '85 Mustang. I'm looking for something a little better than the stock one but still good for dding. What type of lift should I be looking at? What other things should I be looking for when buying a camshaft? Are there any other things that would need to be changed with the camshaft? Thanks for your help!

keep the lift around .500 and duration around 220 @.050 so you'll have good vaccum and as far as other things to change while there do heads and intake
