Default different year t5

will a t-5 from a 1995 5.0 fit into a 1987 5.0, or do you need a different bell housing and so on? I can get one cheap but am not sure if it will fit.

Thanks

Im actually wondering the opposite . Will a 91 T5 fit into a 94-95... But from what I have read, the 94-95 will not bolt directly into a fox without a spacer of some type. But I dont know why yet.

ok ignore w/e info is above in this thread...

heres the deal

the transmisson itself is the same... however... on the 94/95s the input shaft was slightly longer, along w. the bell housing... what that means is for the fox guy wanting to use the sn95 trans.... you need to get a foxbody input shaft and bell housisng... easy job... to me yes... to you, well thats for u to decide...

and for the other dude, its just the opposite... fox t5 will be too short... need to use an sn95 input shaft

Yeah, it looks like the 95's input shaft is .67 inches longer than the fox input shaft. I am going to try and put it in anyhow, and see what happens. I would think all that it will effect is the crossmember, the driveshaft, and maybe the whole where the shifter drops in on the inside.

Why would you go through the trouble of putting a tranny in to see if it would work when you have been told it will not you need to change the input shaft to the longer 94-95 shaft and use the bell housing from your vehicle or use the 91 t-5 and bell housing and then deal with how the shifter will fit now further up in the tunnel.

Yeah, well, I had to see it for myself, and let me say, you all know your stuff. Not even close. It is amazing what .67 inches does. Well, that just sucks. Guess Ill be buying an input shaft and bellhousing now. I do appriciate all the help, and I was not doubting anyone.. It was just one of those thing that I had to see for myself and see if I could make it work, but there is no possible way.

Ok, so I am going to swap the input shaft, and the bellhousing. Will the bellhousing from the 3.8L V6 work with the 302?
