Torque Converter ?
If I installed my torque convertor without any fluid in it when i put my trans back in will it fill itself up? The whole transmission was empty when i put it in and its slowly taking more and more fluid the longer it runs so i'm guessin thats what is happening. I would think it should but i'm just curious. Its the stock convert and trans out of my 83 so its nothing special to get ruined (c5).

RE: Torque Converter ?
i really dont know. prolly because me and my brother had to lift the tranny in place without a jack and neither one of us are big by no means. but still no one has answered my question.

RE: Torque Converter ?
yes the converter will fill it self up but the way you are supposed to do it is put about half a quart in the converter when you put it on the tranny. then when the tranny is bolted int, put about 4 quarts in the tranny. jack the rear wheels up and start the car in neutral. with motor running, fill the tranny one quart at a time with the tranny in 1st. an aod will hold 10 quarts give or take depending on pan size and converter size

RE: Torque Converter ?
I have never fill the converter I just put it in the trans. and put it in the car put 8 qt trans. fluid in and start it up and run it threw the gears on the jack stands and get it good and hot. I also tell the customers I do C-4s for to do the same no problems yet.then I add till its full.
