Default Cammed

guys, i think i'm cammed, as does the previous owner of the car, all my friends, and all 3-4 mechanics who have worked on it so far. there is not a real noticeable lope at idle or anyting, well, it isn't "wild" but its got achop to it, but so does my buddy's stock 95 with o/r hand slp lm1..but i have my shift light set for 5600, and when i get there, its still pulling...don't the 5.0s,stock, stop making power at like 5300-5400? when i first bought the car, the light was set for 5300, and i have been increasing it ever since, and every time i do, it just keeps pulling.

is there anyway to tell? or could i just have some higher ratio rockers on there?

PS..finally bought my new headlighs!! was gonna go smoked, woulda looked hot, but didnt wanna risk any brightness problems..what do ya think?

but, my one buddy heard me start it up, and said it was cammed right away...i just dont know

mustangs have a lope to them stock. and ur car may seem like it pulls more since u have 3.73 gears.

one way to find out.. get it dyno'd and see whereur really making power.

It's the stock valve springs that hold the motor back. The 5.0 have a relitivly big cam in them stock. I have seen cars make well over 300 rwhp with a stock cam. Maybe they put in better springs, which allow the motor to pull better at higher rpm's.

I have an e-cam (498/498) and made peak power at 4600rpm (212) and it sloped down big time from there. The dyno guy cut me off at 5500..so I couldnt even pull to the redline. However, my car still pulls pretty hard way past 5500....
