ORIGINAL: XSRACINGGT

Those are off a explorer 302. I guess they would work, ButI would find some HO supports. They would be better suited for racing and hard driving purposes.
I've pulled apart a few explorer motors and they have never seen anything like that before holding the lifters in. Its always the spider hold downs.

The spyder hold down was still used, it was the same, it just held down the lifter supports instead off the little piece. It is a gt-40x crate motor so not sure if its new of for improvement

I really dont know why it broke.. I was really shocked when i found out that was the problem.,. When you revved it up the number 3 exhuast valve was poping so hard and loud... So i figured it was in the lifter/cam area.. But it just cracked right at the part were it starts to wrap around the lifter... Wish i would of got pics, i wasnt on mf when that stuff happend. But ya it was really weird and cost me a good bit of money for a new lifter set and cam.. My dad told me the cam was a solid lift cam.. and the lifters were roller.. i dont really know if thats why.. The guy i bought the car orginally off of was a real con artist to so i really dont know why it broke.
