Sick stang... crankshaft probs?
Hello everyone,
I used to have an account here but maybe been too long, but I'm here again and everyone was so helpful with all my previous questions.
I have a 1991 stang, minor work done to it. But about 3 weeks ago I installed camber/caster plates and decided to take her for a spin and she started to blow white smoke out the left side. So I figured it was time to replace the head gaskets. I know a bit about mechanics not a guru not a mechanic but self taught and learned alot from my old man. We took the heads to the shop to check for any damage, everything came back cool.
SO HERE'S THE PROBLEM.....
My cam shaft rotates freely but my crankshaft rotates about a 1/4 turn and then seems to seize on either side????....... I'm stumped on this.... the car isn't in gear. What can it possibly be? I know starters can cause engines to seize but I thought it would be a complete engine seize if the starter was seized. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I'm at the point now that I'm up for any suggestions. I would like to keep my motor $$$ is an issue since I try and do most of the mechanics myself.
Any help from you mustang gurus would be a God send.
Thanks and take care.
