well for starters those are some low compression pistons. is it a tremmec T5? the Tremmec will handle about 600 hp. without a blower, i just dont see you putting up the numbers you want with that low of a compression ratio. even with good heads.

I'd say your more likely around 350 hp at the flywheel. Your t-5 is practically bullit proof at that hp, assuming you shift it right and dont lauch with slicks at the track.

*L* t-5 temmec

I beg to diiffer that T-5 is a veay weak link..bullit proof on a go-kart maybe...not bashing your car...a world class t-5 or a tremec would be the way to go. those t-5 are marginal on a stock 5.0..

he said he had the super duty rebuild kit, which I assume is using the world class rebuild kit. Evena stock t5 will hold up to a mildly modified engine as long as its shifted right and isnt used with slicks

It depends on what the super duty consists of. A stock T5 can barely pull its wieght in a stock 5.0. I'm pushing 315 hp and my T5 went after 25,000 miles. 3rd gear and the cluster shaft are the main thing to go on those trannys. If your rebuild consists of a new 3rd gear, cluster shaft, AND 2nd gear...all with different pitch...then you might be alright.

I know that everyone says that "it will hold up if you shift right"....but your bound to screw up once in a while and your bound to go out and have fun. My advice is to do it right the first time.

yea, it's no fun having the power if you have to drive like grandma, and worry about breaking it all the time.

I like the t-5 out of the corbra with the coated gears set..nice world class
I put that tremec in mine and it handle all I have with no problem....if you had a tri-axle shifter with the stock unit might help it live a lil longer
