I found a set of BARE GT40X heads that have been ported by a racing shop but no flow sheets for $400.00shipped. Is this a good price???

not crack prices, but not too bad i suppose if they did a decent port job on them.

I wouldnt waste my time with them... ive seen what GT-40x heads make for power, and im not impressed.

Hell, I roasted a GT40x/B303/Cobra--H/C/I car with my stock engine and stock gears..... and he had 3.73's

Thats not a bad deal, I think its around $200 foe the valve train kit. Are they shaved?, make sure their not warped, but still if you can have a set of gt-40x that would be pretty much redone for $600 you could always get your money back down the road if you upgrade. I got mine for free of a parts car and spent $100 to mill and i pulled all the valves ported the heads and cleaned all the valves, looks like brand new.

Anyone know what size valvesthe gt40y heads take? i know ford doesnt make em anymore and my friend with an 85 wants to know.

If he couldn't beat you stock then he needs to find a hobby he's good at. Gears alone would damn near make it a drivers race.

actually, the parts he had basically made his car into a cobra engine. The B cam isnt a very good choice when trying to race on the highway.... actually, its not a good choice at all.

but it just goes to show that the gt-40X heads arent worth a damn, and my car was a freak
