Default Bumper cropping

I was just looking at my rear bumper last night, and imagined what it would look like if I cut the bottom of it off, so there were no cutouts, and then rocked an LX exhaust. In my imagination, it looked like a Cobra bumper. Has anyone ever done this before? Is this a bad idea? Mind you, I'd have a local body surgeon do the work so it would come out perfect.

Ok, on further research, maybe it would only look good in the Redneck's Book of Dreams. LOL. Still, has anyone seen this? Thanks.

lol its a pretty good idea, but you might as well buy a cobra bumper for the price you'll probably pay a body shop...

I'd cut your tail pipes off and run them out where they are suposed to be and then fix the holes! I' not diggin the whole exhaust out thru the bumper thing! Kinda tacky IMO, But hey, thats just my $0.02!

Hey twist... do you get alot of exhaust residue on your bumper with that setup? I never put dumps on mine so my exhaust just exits right behing the lower bumper, getting alot of residue around the edges of my taillights! LOL Kind of funny

Thanks, fellas. Tmajik is correct; I bought my car this way. I'd like to replace the bumper with another GT bumper. I've just been waiting for one in the right color to pop up on my radar--a new front bumper too. It'll happen; I just need to be patient.

Creekrate, no, I never get any residue on my bumper except during the winter when water drips from my exhaust. Then, I'll have a single trail from the soot and water under each pipe. Other than that, the bumper never gets any black on it from the pipes.

Double posts rock. Anyway, I'm way too cheap to do all of that. I'll wait another year, if I have to, until a bumper of the right color falls into my lap for a rediculously low price. Incidentally, I found a front and rear bumper for the car two weeks ago--same color--for $300 for both. Then some knucklehead bought the whole car out from under me. So I'll wait if I have to.

By the way, I agree...my bumper looks a bit tacky. Then somedays, I'm feeling a little gaudy myself, and kind of dig it.
