Default Can I run MAF without 02 sensors?

Still trying to find out why this car won't run worth a crap. It has the MAP sensor hooked up AND the MAF hooked up. Now don't you need the 02 sensors to adjust the A/F ratio? If there are no 02 sensors, how can I get this to run right?

Default RE: Can I run MAF without 02 sensors?

MAF systems do not use a MAP (although it's the same part)....it is now a BP sensor (vacuum line should not be connected to the sensor). O2's are the feedback sensors for the system to check the A/F, but if they are not present, the system will switch to a strategy based on A/F "estimations" from the other sensors (FMEM strategy).....suggest to start by checking the system for any failure codes that may be causing the A/F to be on the rich side, by running a DIY KOEO/KOER/Cylinder Balance Self-Test.
