rear differential question

rear differential question
well this winter i did the 3.8 to 5.0 swap. well after driving it for a little while i can feel my rear end is going to go since i did not switch that out and it is still the 7.5. my buddy has a rearend out of a 90 GT. i was wondering if the axles from the 7.5 would swap over to the 8.8so i could keep the 5 lugs and disc brakes easily?
