Under hood, fender mount or mounted under the car. Which type is it?
Maybe if you're driving thru 3' of water. Otherwise, don't see it happening.

i used to have problems like that.
right after i installed my fender CAI, it rained. the car would studder and pop and then clear up.
something to do with the moisture in the air, just screwed with the MAF in some way.

cleaned the MAF wires, all set.

Not sure becuase I have the same problem. If I leave the filter in the fender, she will buck like crazy in the rain then clear up. I dont have the stock air box or related items. I have the filter under the hood, which is not ideal, but I dont have problems in the rain.

i bet it has to due with the humidity and the metal that the pipe is made of. with rubber it would have less of a chance to produce condinsation inside the pipe. where as the fender cai/filter brings in cooler (humid because of the rain) air and its ~200* in the engine bay, i bet thats whats F-in with your car.
