Default Electrical help needed

Ok now, this one might be a tough one... i allready assume that there is a short somewhere my problem is how to find out where. When i start the car i have to first use a FULLY charged jumpbox just to barely crank it over. sometimes when i get it running it will actually charge the battery a little but the battery goes dead within seconds from almost cranking power to stone cold dead. i allready tried a new battery evan went through 2 new ones before ruling out that option. last time i got it started it runes descent with the jumpbox still powere on, but the second i turn off the jumpbox the wipers start going on way faster then normal speed, and the lights get really bright if i hit the gas. one time it evan put so much power to the dome light that it blew a hole right in the bulb. the only thing i noticed was that the cd player ground came off and started smoking, but i fixed the ground and cd player works fine but all the other problems are still going on. any help as to where the short may be to cause all the juice to go to lights and turn on wipers would be great help or evan a suggestion on how to find a short would be nice so give me some feedback please,
Thanks mustang86driver

P.S. almost forgot to mension in case u havn't figured it out by my name it's an 86 GT

update: well i played around with some random things today on it like pulling the fuse out one at a time and no fuse removal stopped the problem. the only thing i did manage to mess with that seemed to change anything was if i unhooked the computer the car would turn over alot faster but of course wouldn't start because it was unhooked. Do you think maybe the computer could be screwed? oh and i noticed the problems start once the throttle hits maybe 15-25% before that it idles perfect and reves to like 1500-2000rpm with no problem. but i did rev it to the point of blowing a hole in the dome light again during this troubleshooting. i just wish i had a nice cool place to try and figure it out.. well any more feedback someone has would be nice thanks.

take your alternator out, and bring it to a part store. have them load test it. Sounds like your voltage regulator took a dump

Also check for any melted wires in the engine compartment.

well the only melted area i could find was at the base of the computer the plastic peice that the wires go through was melted a little but that has been like that for a long time now so i dont think that would suddenly cause suh a problem... i tried changing out the computer and that did nothing. so i guess the only thing left is the alt... i have a bolt so stuck in there that i can't evan hammer it out so idk what to do about trying to change that. how many bolts are on the alternator bracket holding it to the motor? i found 4 and removed them but it doesn't budge and where the car is right now ican't get underneath to check for more unless i wanna get eaten by fireants.
