Yeah. Spacers just rob Peter to pay Paul. I want hp and torque, not one or the other. But I wouldn't do the gears until you run it with those new heads.
How do they rob peter to pay paul? You gain both with a spacer.
You gain horsepower by increasing the intake length? Are you running boost?

I wouldn't say to leave the gears stock. But the intake spacers seem to have great benefits and are cheap. I love mine! Not sure what it added for numbes because it's too difficult to gauge at this point. But I AM quite happy with it.
He's running 3:55s at the moment.
yep....

sam's right the loss of backpressure kills low end torque while gaining miniscule peak power. also imo your throttle body is a tad overkill for a stock engine. better go with the heads next.

10 PSI + nitrous. But it also keeps everything cooler which slightly helps with air density.

I have made a lot of changes to my car over the last 6 months and I have lost a ton of low end torque and I am not sure why. I thought my power level should be going up not down.

I had:
Cobra upper and lower
stock exhaust
stock mass air and throttle body
stock 19# injectors

I added:
Trick flow upper and lower
BBK shorties
bassani x pipe with cats
flow master cat back
70 mm mass air and throttle body
24# injectors

I have had a major loss of low end torque. I use to be able to break them loose in second, laying a healthy patch, and now I am lucky to get a chirp. My RPM range has increased but the low end power is horrible. Any thoughts on why it went down and how do I get it back?
you need some heads to match your combo... normally low end isnt as good on modded cars... but it shouldnt last much longer than 2500RPM thats why people get gears so they can get up in RPMs quicker and get to there power

if u just want to spend hte tires get some heads and a KB s/c.... ull be grinning from ear to ear

I'd bet you lost most torque with your aftermarket headers. Anything I've ever put header(s) on has lost a ton of bottom end.

In general, you gain hp by decreasing intake length...at the expense of torque.

Despite the exhaust and gear conversation, the 70mm throttle body seems pretty large for the stock heads and cam.

Why not try the stock TB again? It will only cost ya a couple of gaskets and a little time to change it out. Assuming it will bolt up to the TFS stuff.

Yeah. Was wondering how sam was gaining hp from the spacer and figured it had to be boosted.

What size jets you spaying with 10psi and what block, Samseed? I thought about doing both...8-9psi with a 35 shot on my atk308 but have all but given up on the idea for an intercooled Vortech s/c or a single T70 turbo.

I didn't realize that it would cause a decrease in performance, I thought a larger TB would increase it. I still have the stock unit, I guess I could change it out and see what happens.
