thats what we're here for. everything else you have should rev higher than that. the C9 351w heads on my 302 would zing up to 7k and hit the limiter with a quickness

Yeah i know its lacking up top pretty bad but just wanted to get a second opinion on the springs before i did it. Is there any way i can look at the heads and tell if they have the hardened seats and whatever other upgrades they should have?

Comp's beehives, 26986-16 for a set, they're designed to take hyd roller cams of up to .650 lift out to 6,500rpm, 123lbs seating, 284lbs open. Very good valvetrain stability

i keep hearing alot of good things about their beehive springs. im still running n.o.s. double springs with dampeners from the late 70's with anodized aluminum retainers - but i noticed the dampener was chewing up the shims and retainers so i think im going to leave them out and see how it does without it. it'll only loose a few pounds of open pressure, and they arent wound in the same direction so i dont think the inner and outer will bind without the dampener being there.

about the hard seats, you *may* be able to see them installed if your looking directly at the head of the ex. valve - but it depends on the O.D. of the seats. you cant really see em on mine

Comp's Beehives are a single spring with no dampener. Different portions of the spring have a different natural spring rate because of the varrying diameter, so it absorbs and diminishes the vibrations that move up and down the spring. A cylindrical spring has the same natural rate throughout, so it tends to amplify the vibrations that are generated.

dude, idk if ur case is like mine, but at 5500rpms mine would hit a wall, not rev any higher and the needle would bounce and had no power, and it had some sporatic breaking up in the exhaust note. i got a tweecer and starting playing with it, i noticed that the rev limiter was set to 5500, moved it up, no more problems. i got stock coil with quite a few miles on it and stock dizzy, eddy heads with ford racing lifters and i have no float at 6k.
