I'm happy with my 347. I have SCAT rotating assembly. Remember you can put a bigger cam in because you have more cubes to mellow it out. At the VERY least you'd want a Stage 2. I went with a Comp Cams XE274HR and sort wish I went with a 284. I went with AFR 185s as well. Remember you have to upgrade your fuel system as well!

I dont mean to pirate your thread, but I had the exact same questions. I have an 88 GT ive been tearing down & getting ready to build, I didnt know what I wanted to do either, but now Im almost positive I want to do a 347 stroker & not a 351. Its true, there is no replacement for displacement, but I live in California & smog is an issue with a 351. Im only looking to get 400rwhp n/a outta my ride, so I really dont need a 351. BBK everything is junk, stay away from it all!!! I hadnt looked at the Holley manifold yet, thanks for the lead "my77stang". Anyone know offhand what the major differences between the Holley, Edelbrock RPM II, & the Trickflow Intakes are? "86HOGT", nice car. I checked out your pics. What kinda intake is that??? Never seen it before.

Man I should have signed on here sooner!!!

Don't know. Haven't looked into it and don't really care. I avoid at all costs selling anything with a KB. Probe pistons are just too good of a deal to pass on for the quality you get.

yea, i will most deffinately give him a PM and see what kinda deal he can get me.... i was wondering that bout the BBK.... so i decided with just a Trickflow intake. and the crane cams roller rockers are the ones that i hae in my cart on Northern. the cam is yes a debate, but i will get it figured out. i do have a set of shorties, but i wasnt sure if longtubes would be better or not, cuz the shorties came with the car so i will prolly buy some long tubes. and for heads.... yea i wanna do some GT40 heads if i can find the rite deal. otherwise im just gonna stick stock ones back on it after i do a headjob... and prolly just do my own lil bit-a porting
haha you goin to stick stock ****ta E7s on a 347... hell stock gt-40 wouldnt be much better... ull have to port the hell outta the gt-40s... ran me about 800 bucks....

just to let you know to do all that rite its goin to be a 5000 buck project.. i dont think u relieaze that... u cany use that ****ty Trick flow intake either its not enough flow... ull wnat a pretty big cam with a 347 too... get a nice stroker kit form FullAuto.... then emial jay allen about heads and cam... i like the TEA high ports 225 would be pretty good... then get a custom cam from him and throw a EFI victor jonior intake on top thats good for no less that 400rwhp... a 347 requires a far amoun of block work too... thats a huge project just so you know

The only different block that needs to be done from a normal non-stroker is clearancing the bottoms of the cylinders.
