how in the hell do you remove the body moldings?
On an '85 GT. I tried to remove the door and middle fender moldings. So I can strip the paint off of everything. I didn't want to break anything. Is there a trick to it?

the inner fender mouldings and the door mouldings are held on by an adhesive, you can use a wire to cut them off, now the inner fender ones, as far as I know, are still being made, so you can practice on those, and if you wreck them, they are like 20 bucks or something, now the door mouldings are where you have to be careful, they arent made anymore and to make it worse, there is a wire running inside them that bends real easy and is next to impossible to get straightend out right. take your time and also, a heat gun may help, but I am not too sure...
the outer ones are bolted on...

Sorry... I should've been more specific. I'm just trying to remove the outside moldings. I'll look for the nuts on the inside to remove them. Thanks!
I got the whole car stripped down. The interior, back bumper, etc. I'm getting it ready for a complete paint job. Which brings me to another question....
While I'm doing bodywork. I plan on installing '87 up GT ground effect on the side and rear. Does the original side moldings stay on.... Or do they come off? To put on the newer ground effects.
