Silicone I assume? It should set up quite quickly, but in the future, use the ultra black instead of the blue. It's a better sealant.

Just a gasket sealent it is blue in color put it on both sides of gasket figured it wouldn't hurt.

Yes, you need to use the gasket sealent on the gaskets or else you may suffer leaks early.
Take the pump back off,
clean off"ALL" the old gasket sealant, this takes time but insures the new sealant will not leak
put a thin bead of sealant on the timing cover
put a thin bead of sealant on the waterpump
put the gasket on
then install the water pump back onto the timing cover
