squeeking sound...HELP!! please =)
So here is the deal.
I have a 1989 5.0 mustang and it has recently started making a high pitched squeeking sound.
The weird part is however, that whenever i push in the clutch, the noise stops.
My first reaction was..well maybe its the clutch cable.
Then one day i was driving it, and it suddenly died on me...(there was a constant high pitch sound, and the clutch smelled as if it were being burnt).
So i wasnt sure if the clutch cable would do that though. So then i thought maybe it was the throwout bearing, but the throwout bearing is brand new....
Here is the funny part, my car didnt squeek until i got my clutch replaced(the whole clutch was replaced, plates, bearings, the whole nine yards).
The person who replaced it was my father, and he lives 500 miles away from me. Now im stuck with this noise, and i do not know what to do...
Anyone have input please? i would appreciate it!

your throw out bearing is about to blow up..pull the tranny and replace it even though it is new I've seen new ones take a dump in only a few hundred miles....poor quality sometimes[&:]

RE: squeaking sound...HELP!! please =)
It is normal for them to make a squeaking noise after they are put in but it should go away. The new one could be bad but I doubt it. What do you mean when you say it died on you? Would it not go in gear or did it stop?

RE: squeeking sound...HELP!! please =)
you'll have to start it if it'll run and localize the noise......the water pump could of locked up or a tnsioner pulley and caused the belt to squeal and a smell of burning rubber....I'd check condition of serp belt and or all the free-spinning pullies

RE: squeeking sound...HELP!! please =)
well i do need to replace the power steering pully...but the squeeking comes from when i dont have the clutch pushed in, and when i do have it pushed in, it stops the squeek.
so its something to do with the clutch..or tranny.
ty for all your help!
