Default Where does the starter get its power from?

Obviously the battery.. but, I have the starter power wire coming up from the starter, and if I touch the battery it cranks the engine.. but, I can't seem to remember where this guy hooked on to. Is it a fuse/relay? A wire coming from the power distribution center? Hook it up to the bolt coming off of the power distribution center?

Where should I send this wire?

I was thinking about running it to the cigar lighter or something, then to the battery.. so in order to start the car, you'd have to push the cigar lighter.. that'd be cool.. but, for simpler sakes, where does this wire go?

It should have been right next to your battery mounted on the inner fender. There should be a wire running from your battery to a circular relay/diode looking object. that is your starter solenoid.

I thought the solenoid was the thing attached to the starter.. and the wire i'm running is the power wire for the solenoid when I turn the key to 'start', which then uses that electrical energy to turn the starter, which turns the flex plate, which cranks the engine... am I on the wrong track here?

I cranked the engine over by touching this wire to the positive battery terminal.. I just need to know where I can tap into the power source thats only on when the key is in the 'start' position

So I have to tap into this relay somehow?

There's gota be a place where I can just plug this wire in.. it has a connector on it and everything.. either that, or someplace where it's defintely meant to go. There's 2 wires coming from the starter - a big one, and a smaller one. My bigger one is connected.. the smaller one is just hanging out. When I touch it to battery positive, it cranks the engine.

Yeah, I just checked diagrams in my chiltons manual and asked a couple other people.. this wire just needs to go to a 12v switched source.. whatever I want it to be. Whether it be the key start, a button, the cig lighter, whatever.

So, I want it to be the key start. Now what i need to find out is where the 'start' wire is.. can I access it from under the power distribution center?
