Default Mass air computer question. Price and different options

I see people charging ridiculous prices for A9L's and the likes. But then for ****s and giggles a few days ago I was browsing Rockauto, and you can get replacement computers for $70 or so! Is there a difference? They aren't made by ford I guess, but besides that, is there any problems with them? Could I still run a tweecer on it or whatever I was so inclined? Same built in programming as the Fords? Thanks!

I just looked up an ECU for an 89 Stang and the cheapest is $95 with a $105 core charge. Where did you see the $70 ECU?
If you do not have a core the cheapest is $177.79
